Stihl online policy changes!
Big news coming out of STIHL this morning with regards to changes in their online sales policy! Until now, the shipment of certain products via online sales was prohibited and instead these products had to be collected instore with a personal handover.
With immediate effect, this policy has now been lifted…… with the exception of a couple of items!
“We (Stihl) are changing the rules around the shipment of products to allow you to ship all products, with the exception of chainsaws and spare parts, direct to the end customer without a personal hand over or instruction. You must, however, continue to offer the customer the option of advice and instruction before purchase and shipping.
This can be by online methods, such as videos or web chats, face to face or over the phone. All products – except chainsaws and spare parts – may be shipped in their original packaging and unassembled.All chainsaws, irrespective of type, and all spares parts are excluded from this change and must continue to be handed over, with personal contact with the customer.”
Whilst some dealers may be against these changes, we hope to embrace them and in due course will be making the necessary changes to our website! We shall endeavor to offer up as much information and advice online as we can making your shopping experience a good one.
