The DMM Cardiac Arrester forms a sophisticated figure 8 with a kinked shape which allows high or low friction options and is anodised for corrosion resistance. The Rock Exotica MiniEight Descender has side ears so you can vary the friction which accommodates a range of rope sizes and makes them easy to tie off. The biner hole has a rubber gasket that fits onto your carabiner. 7075 aluminium is used because it's harder and lasts longer than the cheaper alloy which is normally used for most other figure 8s. We stock two ISC descenders - the Figure 8 Aluminium, which has a 35kN min breaking strength, and the Large Figure 8 Stainless Steel, which has a 80kN min breaking strain. Finally there’s also the Rock Exotica Totem, which is designed to be highly versatile when it comes to rigging and rappelling. It features an easy-to-lock-off figure 8 with auto blocking plaquette device and it can function as a rigging plate. Interestingly, it was originally designed for canyoneering but can also be used for mountaineering, rock climbing, rescue, caving and rappelling.
