Features
-
Brushless motor
With no carbon brushes to wear out, the brushless motor all but removes motor maintenance while delivering the power and performance you expect from STIHL.
-
EMATIC lubrication
Two ramps in the guide bar rail contain the oil flow and direct it to the sliding faces of the bar and chain links, plus the rivets and drive links. Lubrication goes where it is needed and bar oil use can drop by up to 50%.
-
Quick chain adjuster
Adjust chain tension without any tools. The quick chain adjuster makes re-tensioning quick and easy, wherever you are working.
製品情報と仕様
STIHL MSA 80 C-B Cordless Chainsaw - TIMBERSPORTS® Limited 40th Edition
Elite cordless performance in honour of the TIMBERSPORTS® 40th Anniversary.
The MSA 80 C-B is the first battery-powered chainsaw in the STIHL AK System to feature a 14″ limited edition Timbersports light 01 guide bar, delivering 1.20 kW of power while weighing just 2.9kg without the battery — one of the industry's best power-to-weight ratios. This "40th Edition" version celebrates the legacy of the TIMBERSPORTS® series with special black, orange and cross axe design.
Key Features & Benefits
- Exceptional power-to-weight: 1.20 kW of output while weighing only ~4.6kg / 10.1 lbs with AK 30 S battery.
- 14″ guide bar: The largest bar offered in the AK System at time of release — ideal for firewood cutting and garden work.
- Quick Chain Adjuster (QCA): Tool-free chain tensioning for fast set-up and adjustment.
- Variable-speed trigger: Allows user to adapt cutting speed to the task, improving efficiency and battery runtime.
- Transparent oil tank: Easy level check for chain lubrication.
- Brushless motor: Virtually no maintenance required, efficient power delivery.
- Edition-specific styling: Limited TIMBERSPORTS® 40th Edition branding, unique decals/colours.
Why Choose the TIMBERSPORTS® 40th Edition?
STIHL has been the official chainsaw partner of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series since its founding, and this edition marks 40 years of that partnership with genuine collector value rather than a cosmetic badge exercise — the black, orange and cross-axe design is exclusive to this run. Beyond the styling, the MSA 80 C-B sits at the top of the AK System for a reason: it's the only AK saw specced with a 14″ bar, making it the better choice over the standard MSA 60 C-B for firewood processing and general garden cutting where a shorter bar would mean more passes. Anyone considering this over a petrol equivalent gets near-instant starts and none of the fumes or vibration of a 2-stroke engine.

FAQs
What's different about the 40th Edition vs the standard MSA 80 C-B?
It carries exclusive TIMBERSPORTS® 40th Anniversary black, orange and cross-axe styling and decals, marking four decades of STIHL's partnership with the TIMBERSPORTS® Series.
How long does the battery last?
With an AK 30 S battery, run-time is up to approximately 35 minutes, depending on cutting conditions.
What guide bar size does it use?
It's fitted with a 14″ (≈35cm) guide bar using ¼″ PM3 / STIHL PICCO™ chain — the largest bar offered in the AK System.
Is the battery included?
Check the specific listing configuration, as AK System batteries and chargers are sometimes sold separately or as part of a kit.
How does it compare to a petrol chainsaw of similar size?
It offers instant starting, no exhaust fumes, and lower vibration than a 2-stroke petrol equivalent, though run-time is limited by battery capacity rather than a refillable fuel tank.
