Before starting, perform a complete safety check following your model’s user manual:

• Check fuel lines, caps, and hoses for leaks or damage.
• Ensure the stop switch moves freely to the 0/STOP position.
• Verify the throttle lever and lock move smoothly and return automatically to idle.
• Ensure the spark plug boot is secure and the cutting attachment is correctly fitted.
• Inspect guards, rider plates, and safety shields for cracks or wear — replace if damaged.
• Keep handles dry and clean of oil for a firm, safe grip.
• Adjust the harness and handles to your height and comfort.

Never modify or remove safety features. If you find damage, stop work immediately and contact your local STIHL dealer for repairs.
