The STIHL Rapid Duro 3 (36RD3) is a professional carbide-tipped saw chain with a 3/8" pitch and .063" (1.6mm) drive link gauge. It is built for users who want a chain that holds its edge far longer than a standard steel chain in demanding, abrasive cutting conditions.
Carbide-tipped cutters make the Rapid Duro suited to forestry, arborist and heavy-duty timber work where chains are normally dulled quickly, such as dirty, sandy or frozen timber. Carbide chains need diamond sharpening tools, not a standard round file.
Sharpening: carbide cutters cannot be sharpened with a standard round file - use a suitable diamond grinding tool.
