Throwline Storage - Bags and Cubes
Throwline storage bags and cubes prevent tangles and allow rapid, controlled line-out during the throw. A cube allows the line to be piled loosely inside and feed out freely as the throw bag travels - preventing loops catching and stopping the flight short. Storage bags are more compact for kit transport; cubes are preferred on site for active throwing. After each session, loosely coil the throwline back into the cube to prevent kinking and UV degradation. Replace throwline showing signs of abrasion, kinking or UV fading.
Throwline Technique - Getting Your Line Placed First Time
Good throwline placement depends on throw weight matching tree structure, clean line management and consistent technique. Stand directly below the target branch, not offset. Use a smooth underarm action rather than overarm for better control and reduced snag risk. Let the line feed freely from the cube - never hold the line during the throw. After a successful placement, keep the line taut while pulling through to avoid the throw bag getting stuck in secondary branch structure. Practice throwing at a target in open ground before attempting high, tight anchor placements on site.
