ART SnakeTail Mobile Anchor & Connecting Device
The ART SnakeTail is a compact, multifunctional mobile anchor and connecting device designed for professional arborist climbing and rope work. With a short length of approximately 115cm, it is highly versatile and can be used as a lanyard between a climbing harness and ascender, as a redirection anchor, as a short safety line, as a work positioning aid or as part of a wider rope management setup.
Made from MegaTwin 8mm kernmantle rope with a Dyneema and polyester core, the SnakeTail offers excellent strength, low stretch, abrasion resistance and easy handling. Its segmented construction allows length adjustment in 5cm intervals, while the removable grooved ring provides flexible configuration options, including combination with the ART RopeZipper shock absorber.

Compact & Highly Versatile
At approximately 115cm long, the ART SnakeTail is ideal for compact rope work applications where a short, strong and adjustable connection is needed. It can be used as a lanyard, redirect, anchor, work positioning aid or connecting device depending on the setup and manufacturer guidance.
Removable Grooved Ring
The grooved ring can be removed by unscrewing the safety screw of the sleeve and pushing it back or removing it. Once the ring is removed, the free rope friction sling can be used as a lanyard or combined with other compatible ART components.
Compatible with ART RopeZipper
With the ring removed, the SnakeTail can be connected with the ART RopeZipper shock absorber. This modular design allows climbers to create a compact, versatile and PPE-certified aid with generous safety reserves for a wide range of tasks.
MegaTwin 8mm Rope Construction
The SnakeTail uses MegaTwin 8mm rope, developed in collaboration with Gleistein. The kernmantle core contains Dyneema and polyester for excellent strength and low stretch, while the polyester sheath provides abrasion resistance and UV resistance.
Segmented Adjustment & Shock Absorption
The segment seams allow adjustment in 5cm intervals. The segment seams have a static load capacity of up to 4kN working load, while forces from 5kN can activate shock absorbing properties through defined seam tearing without affecting the minimum breaking strength of the ends.
