Climbing Technology Cric Rope Clamp & Pulley

The Climbing Technology Cric Rope Clamp & Pulley is a compact multifunctional device designed for mountaineering, rope access, rescue and technical rope manoeuvres. Combining a rope clamp with an integrated ball-bearing pulley, the Cric can be used in four operating modes: ascender, pulley, rope clamp/pulley and progress-capture hauling pulley.

Robust, practical and intuitive, the Cric helps reduce the amount of equipment, time and space needed for rope systems. Its steel cam is designed to grip effectively while helping minimise rope wear, and the easy release button allows fast rope installation even when wearing gloves or working in difficult conditions.

Key Features

  • Multifunctional rope clamp with integrated pulley
  • Four operating modes: ascender, pulley, rope clamp/pulley and progress-capture hauling pulley
  • Suitable for mountaineering, rope access work and rescue applications
  • Compact, practical and intuitive design
  • Integrated ball-bearing sheave for smooth rope movement
  • Can be used as an ascender in accordance with EN 567 / EN 12841-B
  • Can be used as a pulley in accordance with EN 12278
  • Progress-capture mode allows rope movement in one direction while locking in the opposite direction
  • Dedicated cam cord allows controlled lowering of a lifted load in progress-capture mode
  • Easy opening release button for quick rope installation
  • Steel toothed cam helps maintain grip while minimising rope wear
  • Cam slots help reduce dirt build-up in muddy or frozen conditions

Four Operating Modes

The Cric is designed to work as an ascender, simple pulley, rope clamp with pulley, or progress-capture hauling pulley. This makes it a versatile tool for rope manoeuvres where compact equipment and fast transitions are important.

Ascender Mode

Used in accordance with EN 567 and EN 12841-B, the Cric can be used for ascending rope in suitable climbing, rope access and rescue systems.

Pulley Mode

When used as a simple pulley in accordance with EN 12278, the rope can run freely in both directions, making the device useful for lifting, transferring or redirecting loads.

Rope Clamp / Pulley Mode

The integrated ball-bearing sheave can be used as a redirect to make rope ascent easier or to assist in lifting a person without requiring additional connectors.

Progress-Capture Hauling Pulley Mode

In progress-capture mode, the rope runs in one direction and locks in the opposite direction. This allows direct load lifting, hauling system creation and rescue or self-rescue applications where progress capture is required.

Easy Rope Installation

The intuitive release button makes opening the device quick and simple, allowing it to be installed on the rope efficiently across different operating modes, even when wearing gloves or working in difficult conditions.

Steel Cam for Reliable Grip

The toothed steel cam is designed to grip the rope effectively while helping minimise rope wear. Two cam slots help reduce dirt build-up, supporting reliable locking performance in muddy, frozen or challenging environments.

Important Safety Notice

This equipment is not a fall arrester under EN 353-2 / EN 12841-A and must not be used for self-belaying while climbing. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use only within approved applications.
