The STIHL FSA 70 R is a powerful, battery-powered brushcutter ideal for tackling tough mowing, trimming and clearing jobs around your home garden. As part of the STIHL AK System, it delivers excellent cutting performance with low noise output – perfect for use in noise-sensitive areas without disturbing neighbours.

Supplied with the AutoCut C 12-2 mowing head, the FSA 70 R features the exclusive STIHL Rapid Click System. Both fitting and removal require no tools – simply click the head into position or press the side button to remove it. You can also fit the alternative PolyCut 12-2 head (sold separately), which also installs using the tool-free click system.

The loop handle features a quick-mounting adjustment system for perfect ergonomic setup, especially when working on slopes, around trees, edges or uneven terrain. A brushless EC motor drives the cutter head, and the speed can be set to two power levels: ECO mode for light trimming and full-speed mode for dense grass and tougher vegetation.

With an AK 20 battery, the FSA 70 R delivers approx. 25–45 minutes runtime using the AutoCut C 12-2, or 50–90 minutes when pairing the tool with the PolyCut 12-2 head. Lightweight, quiet and efficient, it’s the perfect cordless brushcutter for demanding domestic users.

Is the STIHL FSA 70 R suitable for large gardens?

Yes. It’s designed for medium-to-large domestic gardens, offering strong cutting performance with long runtimes when paired with AK System batteries.

What cutting head does it come with?

The FSA 70 R comes with the AutoCut C 12-2 mowing head, which uses 2.0 or 2.4 mm line and attaches using the Rapid Click System.

Can I use thicker grass cutting blades?

No. The FSA 70 R is designed to work with AutoCut C 12-2 or PolyCut 12-2 heads only.

How long does the battery last?

With an AK 20 battery, expect 25–45 minutes using AutoCut or up to 90 minutes using PolyCut (depending on grass density and speed mode).

Is it difficult to load new line into the cutting head?

No. The AutoCut C 12-2 can be rewound quickly using the large orange disc handle, either on the machine or off it using the tool-free release button.

Is the FSA 70 R quiet enough for residential areas?

Yes. The low-noise brushless motor makes it suitable for use near neighbours, schools and shared spaces.

Is the tool compatible with STIHL Smart Connector?

Yes. The FSA 70 R can be fitted with the Smart Connector to track runtime and maintenance via STIHL connected.
