Equipped with a highly adaptable telescopic shaft that swiftly extends up to 405 cm (4.05 metres), the HTA 160 is perfectly capable of pruning, thinning branches, and general tree maintenance for limbs up to 20cm in diameter. As a battery-powered unit from the STIHL AP System, it boasts remarkably low noise emissions, making it an excellent choice for use in noise-sensitive environments such as near hospitals, schools, or housing estates.
Powering the HTA 160 is a powerful EC motor combined with a lightweight yet robust magnesium transmission, ensuring reliable and efficient operation. For maximum cutting performance, it comes fitted with a 30 cm / 12" bar and a 3/8" P Picco Micro 3 (PM3) saw chain as standard. For fine work, particularly when maintaining fruit trees, it can also be fitted with a 1/4" P Picco Micro 3 (PM3) chain.
The low weight of the cutting head provides superior manoeuvrability between cuts, reducing fatigue during long periods of arboriculture. A sturdy branch hook is integrated for effortlessly gripping and removing loose cuttings from the canopy. The control handle features a clear LED display for convenient oversight of the pole pruner's functions.
The HTA 160 is designed for durability, including a protective foot as standard to shield the motor casing from ground contact. An efficient air filter on the housing ensures the motor remains cool, significantly improving the service life of this high-performance telescopic tree pruner. With a total adjustable length from 285 cm to 405 cm, and a mounting point for the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A, the HTA 160 is ready for integrated smart diagnostics.
