Phone & Intercom Functionality

The Protos BT-Com allows up to four BT-Com units to be connected, providing uninterrupted intercom communication between four operators. Each unit can also connect to a mobile phone via Bluetooth at the same time. Incoming calls can be accepted hands-free by pressing the multifunction button, with no need to remove the phone from a pocket or harness. Once an outgoing call is initiated from the phone, the conversation can be continued hands-free via the BT-Com.

The conference function allows another participant to be added into the conversation via the mobile network, and the overall communication range can effectively be extended as long as a mobile signal is available. Bluetooth also offers interference-free operation in areas where strong radio frequencies are present and does not incur any licence or channel charges.

Does the Protos BT-Com 4 User System connect directly to my mobile phone?

Yes. Each Protos BT-Com unit can connect to a mobile phone via Bluetooth while still remaining part of the four-user intercom group, allowing you to take calls hands-free.

Can I operate the BT-Com with gloves on?

Yes. The BT-Com capsule features one multifunction button and two volume buttons which are designed for easy one-finger operation, even when wearing gloves.

Is this a complete helmet and communication kit?

No. This product includes the left-side BT-Com capsule, charging bracket and carry case. The Protos Integral helmet is not included and must be purchased separately.

Will the BT-Com system interfere with my existing radios?

No. Bluetooth communication operates independently of traditional radio channels and is not affected by strong radio frequencies in the same way, helping to reduce interference issues.

How long does the battery last and how quickly does it charge?

The BT-Com offers up to 12 hours of operating time and can be fully recharged in around 1.5 hours using the supplied USB charging bracket. It can also remain in standby for several days.
