PETZL CHICANE – Auxiliary Brake for Single Rope Tree Care with ZIGZAG
Enhance control and versatility for your single rope work with the PETZL CHICANE auxiliary braking device. Specifically designed for tree care professionals across the UK, the CHICANE allows you to use your ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks on single ropes, providing crucial additional friction for a more controlled descent.
When paired with a ZIGZAG or ZIGZAG PLUS, the CHICANE provides continuous additional friction on descents, giving arborists finer control over their speed and position. The excellent compatibility of the CHICANE and mechanical Prusik as an assembled unit ensures smooth rope glide through the brake during ascents, preventing snagging and maintaining efficiency during upward movement.
The ergonomic handle offers an excellent grip and significantly facilitates movement, particularly when limb walking, providing the confidence and control needed in dynamic tree environments. Thanks to its openable side plate, installation on the rope is both quick and easy, streamlining your setup time.
