FTC Freexion Adjustable Friction Device
The FTC Freexion is a unique adjustable friction device designed for arborists who need to adapt quickly between different ropes, conditions and climbing situations. Developed by FTC in collaboration with Giorgio Fiori, the Freexion allows climbers to progress with a friction hitch on a single rope while adjusting friction quickly without removing the device from the rope or taking the system apart.
Compact, CE certified and designed for EN 1891 Type A ropes from 11.5mm to 12.5mm, the Freexion gives climbers control over friction using a simple 3-position adjustment system. Whether adapting to rope diameter, climber weight, wet conditions, heavy rope weight or movement through the canopy, the Freexion makes it easy to fine-tune braking and rope control during the climb.

Adjustable Friction Without Disassembly
The Freexion is designed so friction can be changed quickly while the device remains on the rope. By pressing both ends of the double button, climbers can adjust the system in seconds without tools and without taking the device apart.
Hard, Medium & Soft Settings
The 3-position adjustment system allows the climber to modify the system angle and create more or less friction. This helps adapt the setup to rope diameter, climber weight, rope weight, weather conditions or personal climbing preference.
Mid-Line Installation
With a secured front locking pin, the Freexion can be installed mid-line for easy setup. This makes it practical for fast configuration changes and efficient climbing system setup.
Designed for SRT Movement
The Freexion allows climbers to progress with a friction hitch on a single rope while moving up, down and laterally. Its compact design keeps the system low and close to the body, helping maintain an upright climbing position during ascent.
Easy SRT to DRT Transition
The shape of the Freexion has been developed to help switch from SRT to DRT work. The device can also be used to push the hitch, reducing the need to disconnect the climbing system during transitions.
Rescue Friction Option
The Freexion tether includes an additional loop that allows a carabiner to be added for extra friction during rescue use, providing additional flexibility in professional climbing and rescue-ready systems.
Durable Finish & Tether Construction
The Freexion features matt anodising and laser engraving for weather protection and a premium finish. The polyester/Dyneema tether is highly resistant, flexible and lightweight, supporting a compact and efficient climbing setup.
