A Proven Lowering Bollard, Upgraded for More Versatility

The RCW3001 is based on the highly regarded STEIN RC3001 and was upgraded to accept the RCWINCH system, creating a more flexible rigging solution for arborists who occasionally need to lift, pre-tension or reposition loads as part of dismantling operations.

Importantly, the device still functions as a highly capable standalone lowering bollard, meaning you can use it independently for standard rigging jobs without the winch fitted.

If lifting capability is needed, the RCWINCH can be attached in seconds without tools, and can even be added during a lowering operation if required.

Smart Winch Integration Without Compromising Lowering Performance

Unlike some winch-style bollards, the RCWINCH does not support the load during lowering. Instead, the load remains fully supported by the bollard itself, while the winch is attached to the lowering line independently via a friction hitch and winch line.

This gives the system several practical advantages:

• The bollard supports the load during lowering, not the winch
• Loads can be raised or repositioned before lowering
• Once lifted, the load can be transferred back to the main rigging line smoothly
• The suspended load can then be lowered safely and independently without interference from the winch

Built for Serious Rigging Work

The RCW3001 is designed for heavy-duty arborist rigging and features a large diameter drum that can accommodate working lines up to 19mm.

It has a Working Load Limit of up to 3000kg (subject to mounting type), making it suitable for substantial lowering operations in dismantling and sectional rigging work.

The drum is fitted with two sets of rope guides (fairleads) that are specially angled at 45 degrees, allowing the operator to quickly and easily add or remove wraps as needed during operation.

Practical Mounting & Tree Protection

Despite weighing over 13kg (excluding the winch and mounting straps), the RCW3001 is designed to be mounted by one person. The top attachment point can be used as a suspension point during setup, making installation more manageable in the field.

The device is secured using a specially designed ratchet strap with waterproof webbing, and can be further backed up by attaching an Anchor-Sling to the base anchor point.

For tree protection, the RCW3001 is supplied with two heavy-duty rubber inserts as standard.
