Safe Working Practices

Even the best PPE cannot replace safe working habits. Always read your chainsaw's operating instructions and follow proper cutting techniques. Work with a stable stance, maintain a firm grip, and never operate a chainsaw above shoulder height.

Cleaning & Caring for Chainsaw PPE

Wash at 60°C on a gentle cycle, max spin 400rpm.
Avoid bleach, strong chemicals, and fabric softeners.
Do not wash cut-protection clothing inside out.
Close all Velcro and zips before washing.
Wash similar colours together with mild detergent.
Air dry only — iron on low heat to maintain coating integrity.
Store clean PPE in a dry, dark, and well-ventilated area.

When to Replace Your PPE

Replace PPE immediately if it becomes damaged, worn, or loses its protective properties. As a guideline:

1–1.5 years: professional forestry and arborist use.
Up to 5 years: occasional domestic users.

Always inspect PPE for tears, worn seams, cracked plastics, or degraded padding. When in doubt, replace for your safety.
